AbstractA physically based model is used to derive solar eadiation flux at the Earths' surface and the surface/cloud albedo from Meteosat-5 satellite measurements in the 0.4 - 1.1 m wavelenght range. The model considers clear and cloudy conditions. The model takes into account Rayleigh scattering and water vapor absorption in the wavelenght intervals 0.3 - 1.1 and 1.1 - 2.8 m respectively. It is tested at DMS/INPE using the UNIX operational system. The results for Paraiba state are printed in the form of diagrams.
